About Eleanor ―
Eleanor studied Embodied Consciousness at the Evergreen State College where she began her exploration of the wisdom and mystery of birth. She soon realized that supporting families through pregnancy, labor, birth, postpartum, bereavement and abortion was calling to her. She then went on to receive a thorough doula training at the Simpkin Center of Bastyr University in Seattle, WA. Soon after graduating from Evergreen, Eleanor traveled to Kauai to further her birth studies at The Sacred Birthing School’s 18-week immersive doula training. Once confident in her training Eleanor lived in Asheville North Carolina working for Home Grown Babies as a birth and postpartum doula.
Eleanor deeply believes that every birth is sacred, and that birthers and families need to be lovingly supported in their birth experience, without judgment or opinion and rooting her care in evidence based support. It is her joy to do this work and to be witness to this magical journey however it unfolds. Eleanor is a trained birth doula working towards certification and a trained postpartum doula working towards certification.
Eleanor is LGBTQIA friendly and supports all families and birthers!!!
